Gustavo Diaz Ordaz International Airport is the international airport located in Jalisco, Puerto Vallarta and receives a multitude of international flights from Canada and the United States daily. Within the Mexican region, there are daily flights offered to and from Guadalajara, Tijuana, Toluca, Mexico City, Cabo San Lucas, in addition to many others. Most Canadian flights are direct flights from Vancouver, Toronto, Montreal, Calgary, and Edmonton, and are flown by chartered airline companies. The following airlines service the Gustavo Diaz Ordaz International Airport: Aeromexico, Air Transat (Charter), Alaska Airlines, American Airlines, Canada 3000 (Charter), United, Delta Airlines, as well as many others.

You should anticipate the following sequence of events upon arrival at Puerto Vallarta’s international airport:

  1. De-board the aircraft and enter the terminal (or de-board the aircraft onto the tarmac, board a bus which will drop you off at the terminal)

  2. Locate the immigration desks and receive assistance from either the tourist help desk or Mexican national help desk, depending on which category you are in

  3. Locate the baggage claim carousel and claim your luggage

  4. Enter customs and transfer luggage to the X-Ray machine. Press the stop/go button when asked to do so

  5. Once the light has turned green you may collect your luggage and exit customs

  6. Exit through the glass doors into the main lobby (a large open hall)

  7. Locate the Taxi counters and purchase your ticket

  8. Exit the airport and wait for an agent to direct you to your taxi
